This book is a collection of essays on ecclesiology, addressing a wide range of contemporary concerns about the Church. Each essay is self-standing and covers issues ranging from stewardship to church and culture to accountability in the church to the use of the lectionary. Combining careful thought and scholarship with a deep love for the church, the authors of these essays are concerned not only to diagnose problems within the church but also to offer concrete and workable solutions. Anyone who cares about the church and her future and wants to be a part of the solutions to her problems would benefit from reading these essays.

I appreciated reading Dr. Crutcher's introduction to this collection of essays written by his theology students. Three of them are acquaintances of mine, so of course I enjoyed Tyler Berkley's reflections on being a human although spiritual leader in today's church, Drew Dinnel's plea for unity within the church, and my son Josh Wright's thoughts on the 3-year liturgical cycle being a great way to insure the scriptural education of the church is balanced. I also enjoyed the article about the feminine representation of Christ that was written by a female student. Without Spot or Wrinkle A Collections of Thoughts and Proposals for the Church edition by Timothy Crutcher Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
Great collections of church history.
Ranging from topics such as a church being financially responsible so it can be free to spend money to further God's kingdom to ordination and understanding the sacraments, this is a great, short, and easy-to-read selection of essays. While many of these were written by my classmates at Nazarene Theological Seminary, they did a great job writing and demonstrating critical thinking for the future of the church!
I'd definitely recommend this collection to anyone considering what the future of the church holds; despite what many may think, the young leaders of the church have an excellent grasp of the kingdom of God within the world and what that should like. It's time to give a few minutes to listen to what they are saying! Reading this selection is a great way to do that.
